Airlight's Cost-Effective Fire Alarm Solution: A Savills Case Study

Savills, a global property advisor with a vast presence spanning across continents, operates through 40,000 experts in over 700 offices worldwide, including the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. In 2021, when Savills opened their office in Chennai, they sought to install an integrated fire detection system with automated voice alarm for one floor. They initially engaged fire consultants for design services and approached a system integrator for supply and installation, with an estimated cost of around Rs 6 to 7 lakhs. However, the director of Savills contacted Airlight to discuss their requirements. The representative from Airlight grasped the requirements and provided an estimated price range of Rs 60 to 70 thousand. Impressed by the affordability, the director verified the case with the design consultant. Eventually, the system was successfully implemented at a cost of 65,000 rupees, significantly lower than the initial estimates. This case demonstrates how Airlight’s cost-effective solutions helped Savills achieve their fire detection requirements within a budget-friendly range, showcasing the value and affordability provided by Airlight’s offerings.

Airlight's Successful Fire Alarm Solution for Indian Air Force: A Case Study

In 2011, the Indian Air Force (IAF) sought fire alarm and gas-based fire suppression system solutions for their critical war control facility and station buildings. Multiple multinational and Indian companies were invited for technical discussions. However, due to the unique challenges of operating in a military environment with higher electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC), high altitudes, and extreme temperatures like Shillong and Rajasthan, Airlight and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) emerged as the qualified contenders. Both Airlight and BEL submitted their technical and commercial bids. However, before opening the commercial bid, the companies were required to install and demonstrate their systems at no cost and without any commitment. BEL showcased their equipment, which was large in size, during their demonstration. In contrast, Airlight surprised the IAF officers by arriving with their system components in shoulder bags and quickly installing and demonstrating their system. When the commercial bids were opened, Airlight’s price was only one percent lower than BEL’s. The IAF officers were pleased with the demonstration and awarded the contract to Airlight. Airlight successfully installed and maintained the fire alarm system for ten years, meeting the IAF’s functional requirements and overcoming the challenges posed by the military environment. This case study exemplifies how Airlight’s efficient and flexible approach, combined with their competitive pricing, led to the successful implementation of a fire alarm solution for the Indian Air Force.
